How to wear your lifters.

Sixty seconds the first time. After that, two seconds every morning.

  1. 01

    Check the clutch tension first

Before wearing, look at the clutch on the back of the lifter. It should grip your earring post firmly but not so tight that you have to force it. The next steps cover how to adjust it if needed.

  2. 02

Too tight? Loosen with a credit card

Place the lifter flat on a hard surface. Gently slide a credit card between the two backing clips and rock it back and forth to widen the opening just enough.

  3. 03

    Too loose? Pinch to tighten

Pinch the back of the clutch gently between your thumb and forefinger to close the clips a little. Try it on your earring post and repeat if you still need more grip.

  4. 04

Need more grip? Use needle-nose pliers

If pinching isn't enough, use small needle-nose pliers to close the clips a fraction at a time. Important: squeeze slowly and check the fit often — too much pressure can crush the backing.

  5. 05

Slide it on like a normal back

Once the tension feels right, thread the lifter onto the back of your earring post exactly like you'd put on a regular earring back.

  6. 06

Flat side against the ear, crown up

The flat side of the lifter sits against your earlobe and the crown-shaped end faces up. This is what gives the support that lifts the earring back into position.

  7. 07

Adjust to the lift you want

Tilt the earring slightly forward and shift the lifter until it sits comfortably. The lift you get depends on how high you place the lifter against the lobe — fine-tune until it feels right.

Care & storage

  • Wipe with a soft jewelry cloth after each wear.
  • Store in the original pouch or a dry jewelry box.
  • Avoid chlorine, perfume, and hairspray — they can dull the sterling silver pair over time.
  • If the silver starts to darken, a few seconds with a silver polishing cloth restores the shine. The 14K gold pair doesn't tarnish.
