How do I use Anchora Earring Lifters?+
Check the clutch tension, slide the lifter onto your earring post like a normal back, and position it with the flat side against your earlobe and the crown shape facing up. The full step-by-step (with short demo videos for each step) lives at /instructions.
What are they made of?+
Every Anchora pack contains three pairs: two in .925 sterling silver and one in 14K gold. Both metals are skin-safe, nickel-free, and naturally hypoallergenic.
Will they fit my earrings?+
They're sized for standard 20-gauge earring posts (0.032" / 0.8mm) — the size used by most studs, dangles, lever-backs, and hoops on the market. Very thin specialty posts may not grip firmly.
What if the lifter feels too tight or too loose?+
They're adjustable. Loosen by sliding a credit card between the backing clips; tighten by gently pinching the back of the clutch; for fine tuning use small needle-nose pliers — but go slowly so you don't crush the backing. See /instructions for the videos.
Are they hypoallergenic?+
Yes. Sterling silver and 14K gold are both nickel-free, so they're a safe choice for sensitive ears.
Will they work with my heavy or dangly earrings?+
Yes — heavy and dangly earrings are exactly what they're designed for. The lifter cradles your earlobe so the earring stands upright instead of drooping forward.
Can I sleep with them on?+
We don't recommend it. Lifters are for daytime wear; take them off before bed so your earlobes can rest.
How do I care for them?+
Wipe with a soft jewelry cloth after each wear. Store in the pouch or a dry jewelry box. Avoid chlorine, perfume, and hairspray, which can dull the silver pair over time.
Will they tarnish?+
Sterling silver naturally develops a patina with time and humidity — a few seconds with a silver polishing cloth restores the original shine. The 14K gold pair doesn't tarnish.
What does the warranty cover and how do I claim it?+
Lifetime coverage on manufacturing defects (broken clip, deformation under normal use). Register your warranty at /warranty, then email support@anchora-jewelry.com with your warranty number if anything ever goes wrong. We respond within 24 hours.
